Arachne is just one name humans gave this woman. Some call her an unholy godess, others refer to her as the Queen of Spiders. For centuries she preyed for humans. Not because she craves their flesh, no, she is far beyond those pitiful creatures that need to eat to survive. She feeds from the fear and the very life of her victims. And sometimes she just wanders the nights for the thrill of the hunt.

In these modern days it has become more difficult to hunt in the old fashioned ways, few people enter the forests she spins her webs in. She uses the form of an attractive human woman to gain the trust of her prey - usually young women, full of life and energy - to lure them into the shadows and catch them off guard to wrap them in her silk and bring them to her lair, unseen by any bystanders. To not cause too much attention, she never kills her victims and releases them after some time, injecting a dose of her mild poison to make them faint before that. When they wake up, they find themselves close to home, wondering what they just "dreamt".

Arachne's human form doesn't bring only benefits though: She can still spin her web, but she loses her almost perfect nightvision and superhuman physical strengh. Of course she can't walk on walls or ceilings either.
